Relief
I'm feeling very relieved today. The kids had their annual birthday photo shoot yesterday with our good friends and fantastic photographers, Mark Garber and Jennifer Gilman. I had really been stressing about it. We've had to reschedule three times since Jack has been sick most of the month which only prolonged the agony. Luckily, his rash was completely cleared up yesterday morning except for a little spot on his forehead. Photoshop will take care of that. I know it seems crazy to stress over something so minor as pictures. I realize there are people out there with real problems who would love for this to be their main concern. I get that. But for me, pictures are a big deal. When the kids grow up, pictures are all I will have left of their childhood. All I have to remember them at every sweet little age.
I was also nervous because Jack's behavior has been a little out of control lately (see previous post)and when he got home from preschool, he was in a foul mood and spent about 15 minutes in timeout before I even said hello to him. I thought for sure things would go south and I had low expectations for the shoot. But after his stint in timeout, he perked up and the photo shoot was FANTASTIC! By far, the best we've ever had. Mark and Jennifer are so good with the kids and they did everything that was asked of them. They were so cute! Because Claire's not shy, she's always been amazingly photogenic. I bought her this romper from etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/77793014/ruffle-romper-vintage-pink-by-cheeky and she was adorable in it! It takes Jack a little time to warm up, but once he does, he's great. I was so proud of them and I can't wait to see the pictures!!
